day two in paris…

day number two started with lots more sleep.. i think we got out the room at about 12. i was shattered and a bit screwed sleep wise. we had a breakfast of pastries and coffee (i wont be repeating it but i drank a cappuccino) got up and started walking towards the Père Lachaise Cemetery which houses the tomb of people such as Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrisson, Chopin, and we even stumbled upon Gertrude Stein..

as that was an hour walk from the hotel it kinda filled our day. We spent what seemed longer walking halfway back and finally finding somewhere suitable to eat. everywhere was either too expensive or sushi… so we hit a french/italian restaurant run by typically french people that spoke no english at all and bullshitted our way through the menu. french lasagne apparently has ricotta sitting on the top and boy was it good! i could literally have eaten that dish all day long. it was completely uneven with it being meaty in places and delicate and cheesy in others but boy there was something really lovely about that thing. but the best thing was our bill was 35 euros and that included a bottle of plonk which was in my fine tuned palate fucking lovely.

we headed back to the hotel again with grand plans to extend our drinking to the bars and clubs of paris but again we flicked the tv on opened a bottle and fell asleep…

fyi the restaurant was at a junction on frubourg.

oh and between us we bought a camera…
